Feel Supported

Anyone that has seen us at an event knows that we love to support you guys and we consider you part of our family!! We want you all to enjoy what you’re doing but be safe about it so that you can enjoy it all again. If we see you run, we will cheer you and you are likely to even get a happy dance of excitement from me!

Keeping this in mind I always want you all to feel as supported as possible, I honestly think there is no better way to make this the case than to work with other clubs, groups and businesses to make sure that you all get the best of the best. The aim of this is to have all of you feel super supported, safe, excited and motivated to go out there and do what makes you happy! Below you will find a list of Run Clubs, Trainers, Coaches and Services that have supported us and that we want to be able to help support right back. They are part of our family, just like you, and we love working with them, I am pretty sure that you will too. Enjoy and remember give me a wave when you see me cheering and doing my happy dance Sa x

Causes Close to Our Hearts

Fighting PTSD Vicpol – Protecting the Protectors

Website Facebook Instagram

Our mate Glenn (Dutchy) Holland has been running Triathlon and running events over the past few years to support fellow VicPol members affected by PTSD – That’s Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Many people have joined in on the cause and together we have raised over $37,000 in direct support. It is our job to Protect the Protectors and make it ok when you are not ok. This campaign is super close to my heart given my father’s issues with PTSD.

Take a moment to read these words directly from Dutchy:

I am a current serving member with Victoria Police and over the past few years I have observed friends and work colleagues leaving the job due to PTSD. Some have committed suicide whilst some are on a long waiting list of up to 18 months for PTSD treatment. It not only affects them personally it also affects family and friends 16 years ago I recall my first day walking into the Victoria Police Academy and hearing the words – “‘Welcome, You are about to have a front row seat to the world, You will see and encounter everything first hand, You will deal with situations that no one would think could or should ever occur. You will have to make split decisions on the spot and have no time to think about it. You will just do it” My campaign with the assistance of all key stakeholders – The Blue Ribbon Foundation, The Victoria Police Association, ESSSuper, Bank VIC and in conjunction with my triathlon club – Mornington Peninsula Triathlon Club is to raise awareness and funds to battle the Black dog. My aim is to raise over $30,000 towards hospital engagement and make a specialised emergency services PTSD clinic. During my campaign, I will be participating in several Triathlon and running events to help spread awareness for PTSD and Victoria Police Members

To date, I have completed 2 x Olympic distance races in Noosa Queensland and 5 x Half Marathon Triathlon races These included Ballarat 70.3, Geelong 70.3, Bendigo Ultimate Triathlon, Challenge Melbourne and Cairns 70.3 These Half Ironman races consisted of a 1.9 km Swim, 90 km bike ride and a 21 km run.
I also completed the Melbourne Half Marathon and the 2017 Victoria Police and Emergency Services Duathlon event
In 2018 – I will be competing in the Victoria Police and Emergency Games Duathlon race and Wings for Life run with other events during the year.
So please donate to this worthy cause and help protect the protectors at www.protectingtheprotectors.com

Go Run Australia

Website, Instagram, Facebook

GoRun Australia is all about coaching beginner and intermediate level runners who want to enjoy their running, learn more and like to laugh!  Whether your goal is a personal best at parkrun, a sub 2 hour half marathon or finishing your first marathon, runners at GoRun have achieved these goals with the help of run coaching, and you can too.

Many runners feel a little stuck or frustrated with their running and they keep making the same mistakes, running the same times and getting the same injuries.  GoRun Australia Coach and Founder, Chris has been there himself and knows what is needed to improve, train effectively, complete events and recover.

Coaching with GoRun will not only give you handy tips and advice from a qualified coach to improve your running, but also give you that all important training structure, encouragement and community support.  We have seen so many of our runners overcome mental and physical barriers and achieve their running goals.

The Running Movement

Website, Instagram, Facebook

Damon basically grew up on a Fun Run drink station after being taken from fun run to fun run by his mum, Kerry Bray, who founded a running group back in the early 80s. (Woodstock Runners) Although Damon was and still is a very accomplished distance runner in his own right, he learnt that through recreational running no matter what time you run – running can have a positive impact on your life and that of the people around you.

Damon is the Co-Founder of The Running Movement with his good friend Andrew Lennon – based in Sydney they offer recreational runners from beginners through to advanced runners’ weekly sessions to improve their running in order for running to feel easier and remain injury free, while also improving running form and fitness. It’s more than just a running group with sessions being in controlled environments mainly running tracks and parks to ensure every runner gets the attention and the running education – every runner deserves.

They also offer On-Line Running Mentor Programs – if you can’t make it to their sessions. This way they’ll structure your running program for you on-line and ensure it suits your family and work lifestyle. Sessions, times and pacing is all worked out for you – you just do the running.
